The most amazing thing i can think of right off the top of my head was my old red bone female "Jill".

Had a big rank boar bayed up with plott "tiger" R.I.P, 1/2 plott 1/2 leopard cur/hound "Thunder", redbone "Jill" R.I.P.  Just as I got to the bay up on the side of the mtn.  "Just started hog huntin, no catch dog, no gun"  Boar was backed up to big rock, just as i get there he breaks out and catches, and is shaking my jill dog, then backs up to rock, broke her front leg, and losin alot of blood, but never let up.

This went on for about 1 hr, she got caught 5 different times, and came back up fighting every time.  He finaly broke out away from the rock, and ole jill was hangin off his butt.  They had him wore down enough where i got close enough to grab her tail and pull her off. When I picked her up she kinda fainted, so i carried her off the mtn as fast as i could and my wife rushed her to the vet, while i went to get the other dogs.
She spent 3 weeks at the vet, but made a full recovery.

Old Jill went on to bay and tree several more hogs and bear for me.  She finaly lost a battle with a bear in NC.     She was my all time favorite dog.    R.I.P.

Good Story! Brian (txdogsandhogs) has a pretty good story like that about my Lacy dog, that happend a couple weeks ago. Maybe he'll share if he gets a chance to read this.

I actually do Taylor.
We cut loose around 6am about 2 weeks ago and like allot of hunts behind this lasy dog, you better not make plans.  With my luck with game wardens  Undecided also, i'm tempted to keep her on a tight leash.  Anyways lasy and one of my young pups where rolling out good already showing working out about 700 then 800, 900, jumped to 1.1 or so and lost signal.  After a hour or so and going in and out of service and us still standing at the truck, she was hitting at 1.6 every now and then in one spot.  My young dog kept trying to pan it out and finally came back.  So we are at about 9am now when i decided to load up and head that way.  Got back on the county rd and headed to where i thought she was.  Got down in some bottoms that i didn't have leased and she was showing behind an old house back off a road.  I drove up the drive way waiting for a shotgun to come out the window but didn't.  Looked like someone lived there so i knocked on the door and no one came.  I drove back out of the drive way and sat in the rock rd. listening to my little lasy baying.  That's hard to do!!!!  ANyways i sat there debaiting on what to do because i will not go onto somone place without permission.  So there was a trailer in the yard that had a phone number on it and so i thought i might get lucky and he may own the place.  They told me they would try and locate the guy that owned it.  no call back.  I then called the game warden and told him the deal.  He told me he was in court or he would come down there but couldn't.  i then called the central appraisal dist. and they gave me the landowners name.  I then called 411 and got hold of an old lady that owned the property and she said her son owns the trailer company and he lives there and his wife should be at home.  She just didn't want to come to the door with my K5 blazer park out side and pits riding on the hood i'm sure.  So i pulled back up in the drive way and the woman said go ahead.  It's now 11:30 am.  Lasy had been in the same spot since around 830 that morning.  I unloaded just a couple dogs because i wanted to catch and get out of there and not have them roll back out on someone else.  I eased down in there (she was bayed 208 yards behind this house) and cut them all loose.  I ran in behind the dogs as we all starting getting tangled in the brairs.  as i got probably 30 yards from the bay i heard what sound like a heard of elphants, it was a heard of about 30 maybe 40 hogs in the tightest group i had ever seen.  I tell you when those 2 CD ran in the party had got started.  Boars, sows, shoats, black, black and white, red and everything else came to my left to my right, there was damn pigs everywhere.  We ended up locking down on a 150 pound sow and lasy was running towards me in the direction the pigs where headed and i was able to catch her and get to the house.  This is just one good story hunting behind her and a couple of my other dogs in past.  I was very impressed though in the east texas jungle to keep that many hogs bayed for that long.

Yes sir, but not a good one. This is the only e-pic. that i have of her.

What i wouldnt give to have this crew back. Jill is 2nd from right, the 2 on the far left are pups out of her and the dog on the far right.

The pup on the far right is out of her, and last i heard was in east Tx, would love to get her back or a pup out of her. Chuck, the guy that got her from me got rid of her cause she was hard to catch.
