Does anyone have any experience with Micro Rain Irrigation systems? I need an irrigation system for a 140 x 300 covered arena. I need one pass coverage, and as maintenance free as possible. Here's what I am currently looking at, but would like to hear any and all ideas. http://www.microrain.net/products.asp?id=4&readmore=trueBTW, I have 60 psi from a 2" line, and will be running a booster pump to push ~100psi

I spent countless hours moving one around and keeping it working in college on a 400' x 800' turf grass field. It was not a micro rain brand but very similar to the one you have shown. It worked very good and kept the grass alive. It seems funny watering dirt for the sake of keeping it dirt doesn't it haha.

I have ZERO experience with these systems. Anything I need to pay close attention to? Any idea if there is a premium brand out there... say the TriTronics of irrigation?
I can get a smaller machine for ~$3600.00 that will cover in two passes, but really need the one pass coverage, which bumps the cost to ~$8500.00. I know these are designed to be portable units, but my plan is to build a ground level concrete slab and a building to store the unit inside, pull the hose to the end of the arena, turn it on, and walk away.... hence the desire for one pass coverage.

Yeah Kifco is real good brand, we bought it from ATS in Brenham. The only problems we ran into was starting it and leaving and if the hose double wraps on it self and sits in spot you have a problem. As long we kept an eye on the feed mechanism that guids the hose on the wheel then we really never had a problem out of it and it got used every single day in the summer that it didn't rain. They use an enormous amount of water thought, I would be finding a way to get on an ag meter for your water. We had ours set up to apply around a 1/4" per pass and that could obviously be changed. For that kind of money I would find a way to make a dual pass work. I could eat a lot of dirt for $3500!

I need about 50 gallons per minute. Shouldn't be a problem with the 2" line and the pressure that I have. I will be putting a gauge on the line this week to confirm pressure.
I talked with ATS about the micro rain today, I'll call them back and ask them about the kifco.

Why not just put a sprinkler system on the roof? Just use a lawn sprinkler timer, PVC pipe, and sprinklers that work upside down.

Matt, This is for the covered pen down the road. I wish it was for my outdoor pen.... however I recently acquired access to a twin screw water truck so I can water my pen as needed. Dub, I have been around some overhead irrigation and didn't really like the idea of using a lift to service any sprinkler heads as the roof is 30' high and the cost of piping enough overhead to get full coverage will far exceed the cost of a portable unit. If the clearance was lower, I think an overhead system might be more viable.
