So its been real hot and dry lately down here in south Florida, I havnt been hunting much lately. But I'm sitting here now waiting to get into my neighborhood because we had some nasty storms roll through and took down some powerlines.

Anyway got out the other night with some good friends. 4 guys, and like 7 dogs, 4 of them catch dogs. We wanted to have some stopping power, smaller piece if property, and we've seen some pics on the trail cam of some big hogs, some of them missing ears.

I had my dogs magic and spaz, I let magic run with the other 5 dogs, we kept 2 catch dogs on lead spaz and gator. Did about a 1 mile loop through some thick cypress and pepper tree heads, a small amount of that on our hands and knees. and just before we headed back, we see a couple dogs cross the canal, and a second later we hear a hog bust, and my buddy's dog copper gives a couple yips, my dog magic is right with him.

We all cross the canal, and by the time I get up the other side, I hear a fight and its sounds like they have him stopped. Seconds later, the rest of the dogs pile on and its game over. I didn't even have to let spaz off the leash, they got him stopped within 100yds of where he busted. The hog had torn up ears and some thick brown teeth over 2inches on each side.

We peeled all the dogs off quick, J barred him out in 30 seconds, we discovered no one brought a cam, and we let him go. It all took 2 minutes, no dogs got more than a scratch, and if it wasn't so hot we would have barely broke a sweat.

I love those smooth hunts.

Sorry no pics, I probably wouldn't have posted if not for my delay getting home.

Glad you got to go on a hunt anyway, even if you didn't get pics. Awful hot though, it worries me to hunt in weather like this. 98 degrees here today and supposed to be hotter tommorrow....and dry as a fart in a whirlwind......

Be careful in this heat.
