I have always like the Cat dogs but I have never been able to find any that I really trusted the working lines of them.

Who in Texas has the most proven working lines of Catahula's atleast three four gens of working dogs ?  No pen dogs just woods dogs?

Abney has some good baypen and woods dogs, Two diamonds has both as well, my male is a fully trained strike dog, his parents were cattle and hog dogs, his grandparents were hog dogs and his great grandparents were Abney dogs so I guess I do

It is my understanding that Don doesn't hunt. Doesn't mean dogs he produces won't...but he doesn't hunt his. He's in Louisiana. Two Diamonds...I'd like to hear from folks who are using those dogs in the woods. I know they have a rep in the Baypens, but I haven't really heard of them doing much in the woods.

Could be...I've only heard a little about them in the woods. That's why I'm interested and would like to hear from folks who are using them in that fashion.

Don doesn't hunt. He does search and rescue. But doesn't mean they won't hunt.

I recommend Chester and Johnny Wager, James Moore from Salty dog, Sam Mason. Wager have had great working dogs for a long time now. My best dogs are from them.

Are any of those folks in Tx?

Wager and Sam are out of Louisiana and James is out of Oklahoma. Wager has been breeding cats for like 50 years now. Sam has been doing it almost as long. Chester wager just wont national cow dog trail. That breed very good cow dogs and woods hog dogs. There don't have bay pen dogs at all. All woods is what they go for. Most cat breed, breed bay pen dogs and show them in it. And I'm sorry just about any dog can do bay pen. As far as my opinion a bay pen dog is a joke to an actual woods dog. When I first got into this I brought a dog from a well known breed and it was a joke cause I started learning more and more and realized not to go for a breed who doesn't hunt. If they do baypens stay away
