I was just wondering what the interest is solely on the Blueticks lately, I prefer Rickticks myself but there are several hound breeds out there. I just noticed there seem to be interest in the Blueticks more then others. Is there a reason why everyone has the preference? I've had Black & Tans, a little to cold nose for me but good at what they are bred to do. I had a pair of Walkers, didn't like'em but that might have just been those two because several people like the breed. My hound of chose is the Redtick, I haven't had a bad Redtick but then I got might from a ol'timer coon hunter my uncle knew and came from a closed yard, don't know the mans name he's probably dead by now but they came out of Shelby County. When I got out to go to college I gave mine to my uncle, I wish I hadn't all the time.

Drum role please..................... Ok Cutter you've missed your cue, where are ya? I seen it, but I have a confession to make. My "blueticks" are in actuality really black mouth curs. I've line bred them so tight that they are coming out different colors. It must mean that there is bluetick blood way back yonder in them yella dog pedigrees. It would explain how some yella dogs actually do catch hogs, so it is informative to say the least. There, I said it.

Bluetics catch em for sure. Nothing sounds better than a bluetic, and I ain't talkin about them short eared chop mouth cur bluetics either. There is no better dog to scratch that itch than a bawling blue, except for an old style B&T

Well Critter Catcher it goes back to Cutter Bay. He is a good guy but he needs a good ribbing as often as possible. The focus is not really Blue Ticks it is to get at Cutter Bay. Now don't go feeling sorry for Cutter he gives it as much as he takes it. He only claims cur dogs so the monkeys don't fling poo at him But he is Blue through and through. Cutter has a special line of Blue Ticks that specialize in catching midget hogs Not sure how he done it but he must be a breeding genius or only has midget hogs where he hunts

I like giving cutter heck about them Big blue Hounds, but to be honest this place wouldn't be the same with out them ol flop ears. I got nothing against a Hound even if it is a track babbling blue tick

It just happens on here, this website is cyclical. Somebody will post a big hog with dog in the pic then somebody will post a thread called ______ for hogs? Then everybody will chime in on how they had one that was "jammed up" then someone else says they no a guy who runs nothing but _____. Three other threads will ask about _____ crosses. Two people will post desperate _____wanted ads in the dog trade and two or three people will place ads for the dog of the week. Inevitably someone will say that ______ is the best breed and that they are the most versatile and have the best nose I will politely disagree and tell them there's a place for every dog, but not every dog s first place and they will get their panties in a twist and want to fight. The next week or so a new wonder breed will pop up and the sameguy will claim to have one of those and the process will repeat. And I don't know why anyonewould want a bluetick, a pit has just as good a nose according to some very experienced expert dog men I've heard from

Yes, pits hold the record, but currently a big white dog is the #1 in the world.
