I'm thinking of getting a 2 compartment aluminum dog box fabricated to fit in the back of Toyota Tacoma. The overall measurements will be 41 inches wide X 45 inches front to back X 29 inches tall. Do yall think I can fit 2 Catahoulas in each compartment? I only want to do this one time so I would like to get it right the first time. All opinions and/or suggestions are welcome.

We made ours 24 tall and 41 x 48
split the 7 inch piece and make you 3/12 inch sliders  for windows
make your divider out of plywood to cut cost and  2 sheets  should make it
     good luck

This is a box built for a tacoma  it is 53" wide x 43" deep x 23" tall.  It had one inch blocks welded on the bottom for easy wash out.  I like the over the bed rail design, I think it adds alittle more room and comfort.  We have have hauled three dogs on each side with no issues.  Here is a couple of pics.

This truck had a bed rail system so we had them built a bracket to fastened it to the truck, easy to take in and out if needed.

I really like this box. Who built it? Will they build another one like it? Please send their contact information

Tell Dale Josh sent you.  Tell him you are interested in a box like "Terry's".

spazhogdog,  Thanks for posting pic of your box. That box is more suited for the south Louisiana climate than all the factory boxes I've seen. What is the size of the square tubing, 1 1/2  or 1 in.?  How much space between the square tubing?  Also could you take some more
pics of different views and angles and post them or email them to me.    jimdbobbie@bellsouth.net
It's not feasible for me to get it built in Florida but there is a few aluminum fab shops here at home.

Trenton, How heavy is your box. I need a box that can easily be taken in and out by 2 people. What size square tubing did you use?
Also where did you get the wire panel material for the doors and divider?  If you can also post or email me some measurements and some more pics of inside and different angles I would appreciate it.

Its prettly light... i can load it buy myself if i have to... its no problem with 2 people...
its 1 inch, 16 gauge tubing...
My buddy gave me the panel... im not sure where you can buy it, but one sheet was perfect for the doors and divider...
I can get you the measurements and maybe a few more pics this evening... It goes from the back to right in front of the fender wells..

Spaz and/or Cutter Bay....Is that also 1 inch square tubing on that box built for the Tacoma? I cant get a hold of that builder, not that it woudl make sense to have one shipped to Texas anyway. Trying to find a local welder to get me a bid.

Also, Spaz/Cutter Bay; what is the spacing between the beams around the front and side?

1" square tubing. The spacing is generally less than 3" on his boxes.
