We went out yesterday morning and got on some bad boar hogs right off the bat. Before we could get to the first bay two of the dogs had gotten cut very bad. We called them off and were headed back to the truck and my older dog bayed another bad boar. Both of the hogs were just big enough that the dogs couldn't hold 'em and just small enough to be quick and had razor teeth that they knew how to use. My 1 year old Cooper got it in the shoulder and the guts. Almost lost him before I made it out of the woods. Got some water down him and stapled him up and got him to an emergency clinic. It looked like he lost 2 quarts of blood. He's on some heavy medicine but he'll pull through. My buddy's dog got it bad in the groin. Don't think he'll be fathering any pups anytime soon. It all happened so fast that we didn't have time to get a gun or rope out of the truck and didn't have a catch dog. It won't happen again. Here's a short video of the first hog. Didn't get any of the second one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R6bSUQkQMg

Man he bayed up nicely. That's considered breeding stock over here. Might slow the runners down. Great video and nice bay.

A friend of mine brought some rough dogs to this same place and ran this same hog all day. I'm convinced that it depends on the dog wether nor not they run.
