It will arrive sometime this week, but basically a small camera that I can wear on the side of my head and take high definition video with. It can also be set up to take a picture every other second for hours. I can put it on and forget about it and caputre the hunt via video or several action shots. I cant wait to use it. It also has gps capability, so I will be able to tell how fast I run or if I put it on the dogs, I can see how fast they run when chasing the hogs. my wife bought it for my birthday link to cool camera http://contour.com/productsvideos shot by others with this camera http://contour.com/stories/hand_picked

I havent seen one with night vision, but that is one of the reasons I didnt get the go pro camera. I want to be able to wear both my headlight and new camera during night hunts. This new camera sits on the side of your head right above your ear.

How much? And what makes it different from the GoPro? Still meaning to get one, just stalling waiting on some different options like this!

The 1080P Go Pro cost S299 at bestbuy and $324 after taxes.
The non gps version of the Contour cost only $199 its called the "Roam" There is an older model that is getting replaced by the roam and that one $135 brand new on Ebay. That one is called the "Contour HD"
I got the GPS version from Amazon along with the head strap for S282 and free shippings
I got the GPS version because it has removable batteries. The cheaper one is "waterproof" so the batteries are not removable. I will have two batteries for mine and so I can have 6 hours of recording if I want. The water proof case is like 30 bucks so I will get that for when I go fishing off my kayak
There were a few things that made me get the contour instead of the Go Pro
1. looks....the go pro looks like a regular camera inside of a clear case. It also looks very dorky when wearing it on your head and sticks out and would get hit on branches when running to the bay.
2. Price.......when you look at the specs you get more bang for your buck with the contour
3. GPS capability......being able to use this while hunting, cycling, and fishing will be very cool. I will know exactly how many feet of elevation when I climb a hill or bridge on my bike, I will be able to pin point where the fish were biting
The cool thing is you can watch a video and have a speedo as part of the video, so you can see in real time how fast your dog actually runs if you put it on them during a hunt.
The gps was not a neccasity but if I can get gps for the same price as the go pro, why not.
Noah, I hope you get one soon, it will be cool to see your point of view while spear fishing.

Here is my first video with the camera. The quality is 10X better when I look at it off of my computer vs the video uploaded to youtube. I turned the camera on but didnt hit the record button and didnt get any video of us catching the hog!!! But I will be ready next time. So far soo good with this camera http://youtu.be/bqi4sksjer0The caught hog can be seen towards the end of the video. My new kemmer pup looks clueless and almost walked right into the hogs mouth.....oh yeah and those strange sounds you will hear is spanish. later

it depends on what video setting you put it on. I had it on a tall view that way you could see my hands and the top of the 4 wheeler instead of just out in front. most of these point of view cameras will have a slight distortion on the edges or "fish eye" as it is called due to the large field of view. you can set up the cameras to have 165 degrees of view and so it will look a little weird on the edges.

165 degree view is pretty wide... who cares about the edges anyway?
