Natural bobtail brindle curs born last night 11.12.2011. She had 6 pup 4 females 2 males. they are out of my main strike dog natural bobtail brindle mt. cur and my female brindle mt. cur. They are both great find dogs, have great noses and proven hog dogs. only 1 female with a long tail

had a litter of brindle mtn curs born a few weeks ago and 7 out of 10 were natural bob tail.

Those are some very nice pups, I just love the bob tails. I had a big headed cur that would throw one or two bobs in every litter he produced.

thanks and i love the bobtails also wish i could get a yellow black mouth with a natural bobtail i was thinkin maybe if i crossed my mt cur with my yellow gyp she would produce some ! ! !

Yes sir that should make a good cross. A good friend runs Mountain/BMC cross that are some brindle hog finding machines. I have always read that one parent has to be a bobtail in order to produce them, I know for a fact that's not the case, lol... As far as producing bobtails you are half way there with the good looking pups. Do the parents hunt as good as they look?

I have had quite a few good mtn curs but one of the best I had was 1/2 mtn cur half bmc.

The bob tail trait is hard to breed out...one reason is that if one vertabrae is missing on an otherwise normal looking tail it is still considered a bob tail. So that dog will produce more bob tails.

well im try and go with the cross and see what i get but no time soon lol the dad to the pup is my best dog he has jus the right amount of grit to stop a runner great nose go how far it take and will not quit the mom is a great dog but really a all around dog tree squarel and coon at night and if put in hog sign find and bay 1  Smiley

mine has a little to much grit. he dont want to turn loose when he stops em. u ever had that problem with one before? if so howd you stop it?

i not sure if it came with his age or jus got tierd of getn cut down but now he stops them goes back to bayn unless its something he can handle he still hold on to them

I have a mt. Cur/bmc cross looks just like the two above but is not rough at all she will bay the hell out of one and nip at it a lil but other than that she is all bark!
