In realistic honestyville, I personally think they're cons are:
If you have the mindset of wanting a catchdog,
They generally cost alot and not everyone can afford one. After that you get into all the other cull worthy traits that all other breeds possess too, but cost significantly less.
I don't run gritty dogs, so I dont want a dogo running loose. I prefer a lead in catchdog that I know what I'm cutting her loose to. Why for my purposes would I have any need of a pricey RCD?
PLEASE dont take ot as me knocking them, just answered as to my preferences.

They are just another dog. What did it take 11 other breeds to create the dogo? They are pricey. If my bay dogs can't shut one down and keep it shut down til I get there with my CD (which I prefer pits) then I need a new set of bay dogs. Heard the dogo do best when run in packs of 3 or 4. Seen them work like that on youtube. They'll strike and catch and I guess if you could afford to just run a pack of them but I like to keep things interesting. My 2 cents

I would say go hunt with some and decide for yourself. Don't know where you are so don't know if you are close to a guy I hunt with that made me really like them. What I like is the way they catch and the personality. So as far is I am concerned it is what you like not that they are a super dog. I would say if you are like T-Bob and plan on using them as a lead in then there is not much point unless you need longer legs to control really big pigs but still not worth the price. I like that you can let them go further out. A guy I would recommend if you are in Sout East Texas hunts with them running next to the ATV's and they take off at the sound of a bay. They hunt out some but close range but when you hear a bay they are half way there. From what I have seen the pigs are caught fast and not many get away. I have seen them wind their own pig too and go catch it. How many times have the dogs been out when a pig runs by? But they are no miracle just a different style. I would say you need to be around them before buying one and decide for yourself.
