I am pretty sure that I am not going to be able to sleep much tonight. Tomorrow evening I am taking my two pups out for their first real hunt. They are 9 and 10 mo old, and are my first two hog dogs pups. They have shown really good in a pen with a hog, now I finally get to see what they will do in the woods running with the big dogs!! I am just hoping we can get on a hog, and that they dont embarrass me by chasing skunks or deer or anything like that. Even if they arent the ones to find the hog, I think just getting them on one in the woods will do worlds of good for them.

I am also excited to put my new garmin 320 to its first real test. I will be using the DC40 that came with it, and one of my buddies DC30's. He is also gonna put my dogs on his 220, so it will be interesting to see any differences between the Garmins and the collars.

Hopefully tomorrow night I will have a story to post up in the "Dogs on Hogs" forum!!

Braden, up until today I was planning on going to Coleman. But the oppurtunity that came up to go hunting for real far outweighs the chance to bay a hog in a pen. We arent going hunting until dark tomorrow, but I think it would be a stretch to make the baying in Coleman, and then get back in time to go hunting up in Locust Grove tomorrow night.  I would have liked to seen what my pups would have done at the contest, but getting it done in the woods is what really matters to me. They have really turned it on in the pen. It took all of bout a minute for my brindle pup to catch the lil 60lb pig in the pen tonite. Its time to get them out of a pen and see what they can do for real. Good luck to you tomorrow if you are headed down that way with some dogs. We'll have to hook up for a hunt once the deer hunters get out of the woods!!
