While on a hunt today one of my dc 40 collars lost signal. we caught the dog to check the collar and found that the light wasnt flashing. when we got back home i put it on the charger and couldnt get the light to come on showing it was charging. could this be a bad battery or something else that garmin would need to check? the collar is only bout 9 months old and hasnt been used much, maybe 20 hours total. any info is greatly appreciated.

I would open it up and disconnect the battery. Then plug the battery back up and check to see if it is charging.ThenI would try the car charger, there could be a problem with the charger or the contact points on the collar are dirty.

I had one do the same thing. You need to up date your collar. Go on line at garmin.com plug your hand held in to your computer lay your collar on your hand held. It will walk you thru what you need to do. It fixed mine. Sidney
