TO TIE SOME WILD BOARS!  I finally got some more mule tape in and deer season is over, so we'll have plenty of daylight to tie 'em up. Finally get to fill up my new holding/bay pen we built.  |

Stretch that stuff out before you use it... works a lot better. It's stretched out Mike. I spent an hour yesterday cutting the pieces and tying two together, that's why it looks bundled up. I tie them that way so they don't get tangled up and I can just reach in the bag and grab one and there ya go. Kind of confusing to explain, but you get the jist of it. |

Why don't you use hobbles?
I do use hobbles every now and then, but I like the mule tape a lot better. Half of the hogs we catch are too fat for hobbles anyways, and if you know how to tie then mule tape is a lot faster to use. |

I do, except I carry them in my hunting bag. I usually cut mine a little less than the length of my "wingspan."

please explain the belt/bag thing for me.. i usualy carry a piece in each back pocket. id rather carry a few pieces but they get tangled in the pocket..

Take the two pieces, hold them together, fold it in half twice, and tie it in a loose knot. That will keep em from getting tangled up and then you can just stick one in your back pocket, bag, or wherever else.

The main reason I say hobbles is cause sometimes the dogs are moving on to next hog while it still tying the first one up. Hobbles at different lengths just seem easier to me, and they can be clipped to a Belt or lead. I'm gona have to try the mule tape idea. Thanks guys.

I have not seen it first hand, and I'm not near good enough yet, but Rance has told me stories about Michael Conatser and his dad, David, tying hogs faster than anyone can hobble one. I bet Landon can testify to that.
