the past three hunts i ve been on, All we got was a shoat! all three hunts had a good one bayed at 800-1000 yrds or so, then the hog breaks as we get about 200 yrds away. and my main dog is cut up 3 times in row with no hog. Whiskey is real gritty always trying to catch, ssso i am thinking he just keeps pressuring the hogs so they wont bay up till i get there, i was thinking of running a muzzel on him in a bay pen and see if that might help. and then trying it in the woods what do yall think??

Good way to get him killed. Ge is bay buster. Get more dogs to help him or get rid of him.

He'll hit even with a muzzle he wont have a chance to fight back on a rank hog! If he don't suit your style might think bout culling him in my yard

You might be being to loud if u gettin around 200 yrd every time before it breaks , sounds like you need a few more dogs that will get rough with an stretch the hog out ,

He is talking about running the dog with a muzzel inside a BAY PEN not in the woods... Ive heard of guys doing that with a catchy dog to get them to where they have to back up... Put him in there with a rank hog that can rough him up but not hurt him... From what ive heard, repeat sessions are needed every once and awhile... But i agree with the other posts... He sounds like a bay buster and either needs more rough dogs with him or for him to be cut from the pack if your muzzel idea doesnt work..

I use to have a dog like this he fought the muzz in pratice yard he didn't care he barked once maybe twice then he caught there was no changing him . So I added rougher strike dogs to run with him and we slayed tons of hogs .i hope it works for u but it could be just how he's put together.if he don't change to fit you're pack he will fit right in mine. Lol

I'd like to put a muzzle on one of my dogs in the pen. Do they make a muzzle that still allows them to bark.
This dog is too rough on my training pigs. I don't want to change the dog but want to save the pig.
