have any of yall ever hunted with or know anything about louisania bred catahoulas?

I just picked up a year old gyp that is supposed be registered louisania bred cat. She saw her first hog sunday and clicked on like a lite bulb. SHe bayed the mess out of that hog. and then we tied the hog in the hoogs and let her go about 600 yrds from the hog and she was on that trail like white on rice and found the hog rite of the bat.

I didnt think that was bad for her first hog! i think she is going to make a dog!!

In 1999, I drove to Monroe, LA and picked up 3 pups from an old man.
His kin owned the 1997 Uncle Earl's Champion or something along those lines, I don't not recall.
I gave SilvertonBoarDogs a black and tan and I kept a male and female black/greay/white.
A lot of his older dogs went back to this "Rooster" dog, or to my "Possum" female.
This is where he and I started with the hog dogging aspect of working dogs.
We'ed chase cattle in the daylight and hogs in the dark with the same dogs.
High prey drive, will hunt whatever you teach her, stubborn as a mule, and not a single ounce of quit.

They breed them in Louisiana just like they do every where else... good ones and bad ones. I've had both from there.

Wish I could go back to when I was a kid and get some my kinfolks had. They were all big, block headed type dogs. They didn't have papers on them and just called them cur dogs. But they were all leopard and a lot of them had blue eyes. Unfortunately, the last ones they had was when I was in high school in the late 80's.

My main strike dog has Louisiana Catahoula papers.  Whether or not the papers really match I don't know but he is a sure jam up good dog.  Short to med range and very catchy and gritty.

"supposed be registered louisania bred catahoula's", if it is will have registered papers with it, look at them let us know what there are out of and who ownes them, we might know some of them.
I have been raising and training Catahoula's for about 20 years, have some registered dogs that suite me.   I stay with some of the oldewr and proven blood lines.

Like any breed, some turns out good and some go to pet homes.  Papers doesn't make the dog but tells you what the dog is out of.
