If you start with a cage containing five monkeys and inside the cage, hang a banana on a string from the top and then you place a set of stairs under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all the other monkeys with cold water. After a while another monkey makes an attempt with same result. .. all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys will try to prevent it.
Now, put the cold water away.
Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one.
The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the stairs. To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the crap out of him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be assaulted.
Next, remove another of the original five monkeys, replacing it with a new one.
The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment. ..... with enthusiasm, because he is now part of the "team".
Then, replace a third original monkey with a new one, followed by the fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs he is attacked.
Now, the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey~
Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys will have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, not one of the monkeys will try to climb the stairway for the banana.
Why, you ask? Because in their minds that is the way it has always been!
This, my friends, is how Congress operates... and this is why, from time to time: ALL of the monkeys need to be REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME.

100% agreed. iv said the same thing, but you put into words that even the dumb monkeys can understand, but you got all the politicians that are the dumbest of them all who cant grasp the idea that they need to find a new bananna tree in another country.

here is another one...different but along the same lines... John Doe makes a mistake at his job...but it is ok because he is human and there is no such thing as a perfect person...so he is excused from his error...the right people like John so every one else likes John too... monkey see monkey do... Joe Blow makes the same mistake and everyone is saying bad things about Joe...like he is stupid and I can't believe he done that...he should be fired etc...etc... monkey see monkey do...

There's another cool study you could do with crabs and a bucket. Put 4-5 crabs in a bucket and as one crab stands up tall and reaches for the top to escape, all the other crabs will instinctively pinch that one and pull him back down. If he continues to try to get out of the bucket the other crabs will often kill the one trying to escape.
This is applicable to life in so many ways.

It is rude to compare monkeys to congressmen. How could you be so insensitive to the monkeys?

if it looks like a monkey, talks like a monkey and hands out chit samiches for all to take a bite, then it must be a monkey. i know monkeys are smarter than politicians, but its the best thing to compare to.

Monkeys fling poo at those that annoy them to go away. Politicians fling poo and expect you to vote for them because the other flings stinkier poo. They all stink and need to go.

the monkey parable referenced above applies to the habits of a working dog pack as well, both good habits and bad...
as a dog owner's training abilities evolve, those habits become more obvious from one generation of dogs to the next.

I agree...but as we evolve the training becomes easier or we can just call it conditioning and exposing the dog to different situations...

Training dogs evolve and become easier with experiance. Training politicians still have not been figured out yet. They are still acting dumb n have not been culled yet, so their bad traits continue to get worse
