Jagds are pack hunters an hunt with drive . 3 jagds 1 small pit.  That's a pack. Any more jagd an the pack to much dog on 1 hog. jagds  are gritty an have a dam good nose ! I like my jagds to have longer legs an longer snout for better cold nose

IMO its hard to go from hunting curs to hunting these terriers. Also I would plan to hunt a couple together rather than try to hunt a mixed pack unless you raise it up from a pup hunting it with the same curs. They are different temperment and different style and takes getting used to. You have to have an open mind about it for it to work for more than a novelty/hobby.

I have one left now and he grew up here hunting with my curs six years ago and still trys my patience sometimes.

I have seen many more open mouthed Jagds then quiet ones. They are hard to trash break.

I don't remember who posted it but read on here once jags don't catch a hog they are trying to figure out how to kill it lol.  That comment has stuck in my head and is the first thing that I think about when I see jagd on here.
