Thats the best kind of rig ! I would love to be able to throw chain again ! South and west Texas, New Mexico, Oaklahoma, Wyoming, Kansas, North and South Dakota are booming. Anywhere that is drilling for oil needs hands bad right now. The only places that are slowing down are the ones that are drilling for natural gas ( East Texas, Louisiana and Pennsylvania). The companies in the Dakotas and Wyoming are starting floor hands out at or above $30.00 an hour ! Drillers are making up to $45.00 an hour. Got some friends working up there and they love the money but say its miserably cold right now. Most companies work 14 on 14 off or 28 on 14 off so you dont have to move if you dont want to. The oilfield has provided me a good living for many years but its hard on the body so pay attention and learn so you can move up fast. Nobody wants to have a wore out body at 40 years old !
