More redneck programming on mainstream tv  Grin

How many of y'all have, or would get your favorite dog mounted by a taxidermist?

I've got a BAAADD boar skull that a taxidermist who I got on another real bad one told me that as a return of the favor he would full body mount a replica of for dirt cheap. I've actually entertained the thought of mounting the dog who struck him in a baying scene with that hog when she passes on. Hopefully this won't be for 10-12 years but still.

a friend of mine had a world champion walker back in the mid 1970's and he wanted to get his dog mounted when the dog died but his wife said no way... Huh?

we mount deer, hogs, and other animals that we are proud of. why not our dogs, if we are proud of them? iv never thought of it, but it makes sence.

Have already spoke to my taxidermist about it...  Plan on mounting two of my terriers baying a nice mount when they go. He said just set aside a good live picture and when they go bag em and put em in your meet freezer he will take care of the rest.

My dogs arent my kids... They are animals I have a lot of respect for and just like a trophy hog I would like to admire them for some time. Just hope my CD doesnt catch sight of scene through the window or something.

I mount my spouse on a regular basis Afro Shocked

That being said I think a framed picture would be good enough. Mounting pet is just weird.

LMAO! I saw this last night... I don't think I could get my 18 year old T girl stuffed. Know that she is dead, but see her every day. That would kill me. I think a animal you kill is different, but not a pet. It’s a great gesture and all, and seems that most of the people that got it done were happy about it; but I don't think it’s for me. Death is a part of life, and you have to be able to accept that and move on. IMO

We have Champ who is a real conversation piece but he has coyote face due to the guy not shaping his head and he didn't do a good job 'filling' him in but he is forever with us!

I like the idea of the freeze drying cause they seem to keep better features...I told my husband he better save his pennies if he plans on doing any others lol but this guy would probably mess himself with an 85 pound dog...he might need a bigger dryer  laugh

That looks surprisingly good and I'll bet it definetly sparks plenty of conversation.

My biggest fear would definetly be that they wouldn't get it quite right.

I was shocked when I seen it for the first time because his head wasn't nearly as blocky as what I was used to seeing and yes we get all kinds of shocked faces....they typical question is 'Is that a real dog??'

The first time some girls came to clean our house our son was three or four, when they asked if he was real he responded 'yes, yes he is...that is Champ and is dead!!' they just laughed and asked us why in the world we would stuff him, I just told him my husband like his dog alot.
