Will pups that continue nursing after recieving their first shots lose the effects of the shot from the antibiotics in the mother's milk?  I heard this once and it seemed to make sense.  I had a pup from a previous litter that looked like it was getting the first signs of parvo, I placed the pup with the mother and it began nursing from her.  The pup got healthy again, ended up loosing the whole litter from parvo though.  If I am in no rush to hunt the mother how long should I let the pups nurse before giving them their shots?

I read years ago about nursing pups and vaccines...I wean the pups by six weeks and around 7-8 weeks give an 8 in 1...must have the parvo and corona...then do it again 3 or 4 weeks later and call it good...never lost a pup to parvo or corona doing it this way since the 1980's...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...

I do my best to keep pups off the ground until they get their second shot at 9 weeks. I know its hard but if u have had parvo once, it's there.
