I can not keep the fleas off one of my dogs. He has a flea collar on. I have also washed him multiple time with flea shampoo and put the drops on his back. I also use ivermectin on him. Any other ways I can keep them off? Also I have wood kennels and was wondering if there is a spray to use on the floors and kennels? Thanks for the help.

Comfortis is pretty much the top tier in flea prevention,

Or a cheaper alternative is the dominion liquid used as a topical, if you search "bayer" on ethd, you will find countless posts with dosing info and sources.

IVE had good results using biospot every month i havent had flea problem in years and all my dogs are on dirt.growth inhibitor is key thing that keeps them at bay. fleas build up immunity to isecticides quickly.I f a flea comes in contact with a insecticide and lives and lays eggs the young will have an immunity to it of somesort. thats why its important to swap chemicls to kill them effectivly and use growth inhibitor regularly. Many people get fleas and cant get rid of them because they are immune to the spray they are using repeatedly .once fleas have been killed out  new batches of eggs hatch spray again on a schedule then use the inhibitor (bio spot)and you should be fine  .Thats just experience ive had..

Give the dog comfortis and you can stand there and watch the fleas die and fall off, it is pretty impressive stuff!

Comfortis is the way to go. No spraying the dogs, no spraying the yard. It's around $75 for six pills, but I only give it twice, maybe three times a year.

Keep in mind comfortis says if your dogs are receiving high doses of ivermectin, the comfortis can cause a problem. And most of us are overdosing if you use ivomec, or zimectrin.

Try Trifexis. Made by the same people and has the same ingredient as Comfortis but it prevents heartworms, whip worms, round worms and hook worms monthly, More for your money. Get it without a perscription from PetVet-supply.com. $88.95 for a 6 month supply for dogs 60 to 120lbs. Hope this helps and saves people some money.

Comfortis does wonders, I just give it in between their dose of monthly ivermec. Mike's right a couple times a year will do the trick.

Chad, I believe you can only get it from a vet. Call around... a lot of them want you to bring the dog in.
