I need some info on night hunting seems like my dogs want range at night.

Well it just seems like my dogs run around lost at night I just started night hunting might just need better dogs lol

Maybe. There's no way any of us who've never hunted with you would know.


In general. The dogs have to rely on nose and ears at night and while they can see better than us, it's still dark even to them. This is why a lot of hogs that are "runners" at night, can be stopped slightly sooner in the day. My theory anyway.

Some dogs don't range real deep at night, others range very well. Best advice I can give you is keep your dogs in the woods as much as you can

yeahh i start my pups out at night...every dog ive seen that hunts at night will hunt during the day..they might need to get used to it...they need confidence in the dark. they will learn it just keep them in there.

in my experiences some dogs just dont hunt good at night my dogs have been hunted at night a lot but they still dog not range like they do during the day time

Maybe try putting out right before dark that way your dogs are already working when the sun goes down
