I have a dog who has mosquito looking bumps on skin. Wondering what it is. At first i always tought i was mosquitos but here at the house there has not been any at all so i know thats not it. Also the A$$ end looks thin haired. I did have him on ivermec for about a month but i never saw no change. Im starting to wonder if the food im feedin can be the problem. Be more than glad to hear yals opinions thanks!

First thing I look at is food allergies. Specially if you have just changed food. That and then bedding. I've had dogs I couldn't use straw or cedar.

JUST WENT THROUGH THIS WITH 5 OF MY DOGS. IT IS AN ALLERGY THE SPOTS MAY GET BIGGER THAN WHAT YOUR SEEING. HOPE YOUR FRIENDS WITH YOUR VET I SPENT $300 ON TEST FOR 2 OF MY DOGS TO BE GIVEN PREDNISONE AND BENADRYL. ALMOST COMPLETELY GONE FROM ALL MY DOGS IT WILL TAKE SOME TIME WE COULDNT FIGURE IF IT WAS FOOD ALLERGY OR NOT IM STILL FEEDINT THE SAME DOG FOOD. I CHANGED FOOD ON ONE DOG AND IT DIDNT MAKE A DIFFERANCE. GOOD LUCK

hm what is his food consitant of? try a grain free base, start him on chicken and rice for 15 days if you can make it and then use a grain free, either call of the wild which i like alot, or diamond naturals. there are some others but those two i have only messed with.
are these bumps dry and flakey or are they moist and have fluid?
put the dog inside and give him a good rub down with some shampoo with a drop of dish soap and if you can keep him inside you can rule out 2 easy allergies in one.

What dog feed are you feeding? Try a couple months of Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice. It has no corn in it.
Bath him with a medicated dog shampoo only once. Do not use dish soap and do not bath him often. Bathing often strips the natural oils .
Treat him with something that will kill all fleas, ticks, mites, etc. Tractor Supply has a great product called Prolate/Lintox.
Treat his kennel, dog house, yard, etc. with a good insecticide. I use Cutters Back Yard Bug Control. Soak everything down with it.
Find you a tube of Nu-Stock. Squeeze all the Nu-Stock into a big squirt bottle. Add to it a big bottle of baby oil. Shake it up good. Spray all them bad spots with it daily.
I had a young dog with bad skin problems. Vet could not figure it out. I did everything mentioned above and in a month he had the most silkiest looking coat of hair you ever seen on a cur dog. Never did figure out what it was but after doing the above on the advise of a friend, It cleared up. Sometimes it's just a week immune system. Might also give him something for that.

Izz that looks the same as what my dogs had. I have fed same dog food last 6 months don't know how it could be a food allergy. Regardless if you can get your vet to give u prednisone and u can the Benadryl over the counter 2 in the morning 2 at night. Should do the trick.

Same here ive ha them on diamond for a bit. But ive notice the same thing on my other dog as well. His kennel partner. Im wondering what the hek it is. Ima try andget sone of that prednisone and change up the diet. I was also thinkin about putin some nu stock all over them and hopin it works that or some used motor oil

I used to have a jack russell with the same looking problem. He would just scratch with his teeth so much his hair would come off. My vet called it hot spots. If you see him biting himself that's probably what it is. There's medicine for it. Do some research online for it.
