Got my Texas Fur Trails mag in today an was reading the article about animal right lobbyist trying to band hunting bear with hounds/dogs. they are saying that it is inhumane! that its unsporting to use hounds to chase bears, inhumane to shoot bears at a close distance, that 2/3reds of the us doesnt allow bear hunting with hounds, the hunters are just trophy hunting...kinda ruffled my feathers that they are trying to attack not only just hunting but hunting with dogs as well...didnt know if any of ya'll had herd about this...any in site? If they get this passes were will it stop? whose next on the chomping block, bird hunting, coon hunting, hog hunting? all these are done with dogs an whose to say it wont spread to any of the game animal hunting...makes me angry to see this stupidity!

2/3 of the US doesn't allow bear hunting with dogs because 2/3 of the country doesn't even have bears.   Undecided

i was at the state capital in sacramento  this past monday and also last tuesday helpin the hound people to fight this thing. they are doing a great job but it has allready passed thru the senate and  now the parks and wildlife committe  a few days ago.wayne pacele was there last monday and vowed if we get this killed that he  will see that is on the ballott in 2014 thru the initiative process. it would ban the use of dogs on bear and bobcat, but as was said by another, thats just for starters. mountain lion hunting of any kind has allready been banned here  by being put to the ballott. it will next go to the appropriations committee and hopefully it can be killed there. folks need to realize we cant just sit back as hunting with dogs will be a thing of the past soon if we dont act fast. i fought this same battle with the roosters and you see how that ended up.

Uthink a state looking at a shortfall of about , i think it was close to half a trillion,,, would have more important matters to tend to. Guess its all part of the cycle that got em n the fiscal mess that WE'LL have to bail them out of

dang i haven't had a chance to check up on this , had family in from out of state but the bill passed the committe and now it's off to the assembly   . sad times in californa for the dog huntin world . you can go to biggamehoundsmen.com and in the big game hunting with dogs section find the link to a list of people to call and voice your concerns and views of this bill and the hsus agenda . we live in texas but all calls from out of state are welcome . and remember wayne paccelle will be nocking on our door sooner than you think he has alot of [ friends ] in texas . and be sure and vote REPUBLICAN  come november . the demobrats are hsus biggest allies

halfbreed, the bill passed the parks and wildlife commitee and in 4 to 6 weeks will be heard by the appropriations committee. if it passes there it will then go to the full assembly for a vote and if passed it will go to the governor.

Bear and cat hunting has been banned in Washington and Oregon for at least 10 years. The biggest part of both states is rural but all the people live in 3 counties.  It was done by initiative because most of the population is city dwellers that don't know shat from shinola but the HSUS ran all kinds of edited video's with sqauling bear cubs and such. The dang hunters gave the HSUS all the ammo the needed. A thinking person could see thru the campaign but those emotional campaigns work on the tree huggers.
