Well been a while since I've been hunting and got in three in the last week and the dogs just didn't seem to have that want to I like to see, been a month or so since I've had them in the woods and probably over two since any hogs have been through the properties I can hunt so long dry spell to say the least. Well they seemed to get bored so a few buddies came by and we separated a few hogs in my bay pen and let them get in some good practice. Took two young cat pups and my grown cat gyp and my bmc ace. Started the young dogs on a salty little boar bout 130-145lbs and let them get in some work my buddy's got to put their pups in and let them get in some good work. The little boar will run a good bit so they started figuring out how to shut him down and back up. After the pups worked it was time to put them to the test and let them try out the real deal. Ole Bob the good boar I caught a while back that weighed in at around 280 with some nice cutters and mean as a snake. I got ace and the older cat gyp suited up and let em give it a go, they did perfect bayed pretty as a picture first time I've been able to really watch them work every bay I've been on in the woods its to thick to see whats going on. I added on of the younger gyps to the mix and it got interesting, the caught a couple times but couldn't hold him. They got cut a little and never even showed signs of slowing down. I was very pleased with the way it all worked out. Now I hope I can get em on some good sign and catch some more swine. Just wanted to share a little never hurts to get there confidence up and get em on a pig when you can't seem to get any on the properties during a dry run.
