from what i have always been told and seen on the discovery channel they are kind of a mut im not trying to offend every would just like to know they are made from like five different breeds am i right or wrong once dont want to offend anybody and sorry if i do ahead of time just want to learn

Cross between:
fighting dog of Cordoba
Old English Bulldog
Dogue de Bordeaux
Irish Wolfound
Pointer
Boxer
Spanish Mastiff
Bull Terrier
Great Dane
Great Pyrenees
Each dog crossed had a special place and was done so for a specific purpose leading to the final product.
If a "mut" like your referring to is simply dogs formed from crossing other breeds, then 99% are.

All breeds were made up from crossing dogs dogs until a unified type was able to continuesly reproduced, so Like Bryant said 99% all dogs can be considered Mutts if you look at it that way.
