A Litter I have Been waiting on just dropped & one of the pups has a Bad gash on its side, pup is real active seems strong and momma keeps cleaning it But I'm afraid of infection is there any type of medicine u can put on a New Born or anything for that matter, thanks. Here's a pic, when the pup extends its back leg it's all exposed.

just remember whatever you put on the cut the mama will lick it...my thought here is this... If the living quarters are kept sanitary the pup will heal on its own with the mama dog keeping it clean and taking care of it...I would just keep an eye on it and just making sure it is staying clean and that no infection is setting in.jmo

Id just make sure it stays clean, maybe a little hydro therapy and momma's cleaning will clear it up.  I wouldnt put nothin on it just cause momma is keepin it clean and will ingest whatever you put on it.

we just had a litter about a month and a half ago and a pup was cut like that but on its front leg and back he got hung up in the dog house some how. anyways we just moved them in side bc it was hot and made sure everything was always clean and the mother took care of him and now he is running around and not hurt at all. at first we thought he would be crippled but he healed awesome and is a normal pup.
