Well, had a landowner that we help out call me and said that he was getting eaten up in all of his fields. Jeff and I took Fred, Pistol, Jane, PJ, and my pup Kato with us and dropped em down around 6:30… Blake had to work, but he wanted us to hunt his girls. We started walking in and not 20 mins into the hunt Pistol struck a track and her and Fred were neck and neck at 275ish. They got it stopped 650 from us, so we got into about 80-90 out and cut the dogs to em. They shut that hog down, and we got it tied up. We were going to haul it out, but realized we had no way to get the landowner’s wheeler to it so Jeff dispatched it. All that was gona happen to it is become dog food for the landowner anyways, so I told him I’d bring him some meat since we were 700 yards from the truck! LOL! We got back to the truck and loaded the dogs up cause the landowner had 4 German Shepherds with him… LOL! drove down the property a little to where he said he saw some more fresh sign on his way to meet us. Got to a good posting spot to let the dogs work and catch our breath and got to watch Pistol and Fred zig zag a field like a flock of birds; it was something to see. Grin They took a track and ran by a little water hole that had good sized wallers in it, and Fred took a hog about a mile. That hog took him around in a huge loop from .56 out back to .90, and back again for about an hour and a half. I noticed on the Garmin he had come off the track, was just trying to pick it back up, and we were getting close to where we didn’t need to be so I called him out and we headed for the truck. That stuff is thick nasty in there!! LOL! I’m pretty proud of this hog cause it was my first hog since I got dogs that I’ve been able to catch without Blake. I know it may sound weird to some guys, but I feel like I’ve finally broken that streak. Grin Between that, Kato getting on his first hog in the woods, PJ handling good in the woods and on the way to the bay, and Fred hunting his butt off I couldn’t be happier today! It was a great hunt! I tried to take a few pics cause I’ve been slacking off lately.

Thanks guys! And yeah Thomas, she is starting to fill out a lot more here lately. And she did a lot better going into the bay... No whining at all. I just had to have a closer grip on her so he was hugged up right beside me following me in...

Tex you are right as rain! I've been working hard and learning as much as I can from all kinds of different people and dogs to be able to do just that. I still have some more building to do with my pack, but for now it's going good! Thanks buddy!

No she is out of Blake's Zig which is half Plott x half BMC, and a dog named Salty that I think was Plott x BMC as well; I just don't know the breakdown. She is making a dam good dog, and is a hunting fool!
