Peaches and I headed out solo yesterday as the other guys that have been wanting to go couldn't make it.Huh? Finally around noon my Hunter dog struck one down near the bayou... and the race was on. They finally came bayed nearly two miles to the north of us. Then the long journey began to get around to them. There's no easy way around this place. Every time the dogs go north or south, it's a several mile trip through some rough old trails to get around to them. We finally got there, Hunter, Copper and Peache's Lady dog had a group bayed in a bad palmetto, yaupon and vine thicket. I knew as soon as the bulldogs tried to get into it, the hogs would break... and they did. After a couple of more hours, they came bayed again a mile and a half to the south. We were as deep south as we could go on that side of the bayou. So began the long journey back around. The only problem was, it was getting close to dark and we didn't have any lights with us. Finally get to the dogs and they had a group of about 15 bayed up. Sent the bulldogs and luckily everything came together on the same hog. We caught all the dogs up and got the hell out of there. Ended up being a 12 hour ordeal for one hog... the dogs will sleep good for a few days.

It was a long day for sure. Even peewee was tired. Lol lady put 32 miles on the garmin and it wasnt tracking her for allot of the time. I am just glad we finally got our hands on one. I tried to catch a video of the crows coming in to mike calling hunter back after the catch but only got nine seconds worth. The sky was filled with freakin crows at one point. Lol all in all it was a good day with some good dogs. Wink
