Ok y'all, something has been bothering me this week, and so I'm gonna throw it out there and see what y'all can come up with. I adopted a Ridgeback from rescue last week.

Here is what we know about him. He was (literally) thrown out of a truck in the middle of a busy intersection by 2 Mexicans in Southern Louisiana back in April. He and the female he was with were almost starved to death. They are somewhere around 3 years old. Now here is what is bothering me. The male that I adopted has a old injury that was repaired with surgery. I am not going to explain the surgery in case of the small miracle that we can locate his true owners, but it was EXTENSIVE surgery and cost upwards of a thousands of dollars.

It doesn't make sense to me that two Mexicans would spend thousands to fix a dog, starve him, and then dump him out. My gut says he was stolen. He is about 29.5 inches at the shoulder, 92 lbs (now) and is dark dark red with yellow eyes. I don't remember exactly where it was that they found him, but I can find out tomorrow. I hope we can figure out what his story is and get him back with the family that obviously loved him enough to fix a bad injury. It isn't known if he and the female were a pair, but they were very attached to each other. If you know anyone in Louisiana that had a Ridgeback stolen, and they can identify the injury, have them contact me.

Nope, the fixed injury isn't gonna allow that.

I'm including a pic of him. It doesn't show the injury so they would still have to identify it.

That's awfully good of you to put the word out, just in case he does have someone really looking for him. Good that they'd have to prove it by knowledge of the injury too! All in all, I hope you enjoy him. I'm sure he's a happy camper there.

Just a question, its got no relevance to the matter at hand but would it be different if two whites had thrown the dogs out vs two Mexicans?

Would you ask that if she was mexican vs white? Since she's white it has to be racial

I sure would ask the same thing regardless of who was in what spot.

Absolutely not. A dog abuser is a dog abuser, and I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I simply stated race in case there were any suspects as to who had stolen the dogs it might give another thought of "Hey, that really could be my dog!" Again, no offense meant.

I just want it be said whites are just as capable of throwing dogs out of trucks I don’t want any Mexicans thinking they are the only ones that can do it cause white folks are just as good at it so ha.  Afro

Guys, y'all aren't helping. Can we please just drop it and get back to trying and finding this guy's original home? He had to have had one to have thousands of dollars in surgeries done.

Maybe try your local craiglist and check with shelters in the area for reports of lost/stolen dogs that match the description.
