Last saturday I moved my 11mo old BMC pup from a kennel to a chain. He was in a 16x10 kennel, and now is on a 15 ft chain. I moved him to get him used to being tied up, and also am hoping to put a new pup in the kennel before too long.
I am not sure if that dog has sat down one time yet since i put him on the chain, at least while I am home to watch him. Hes been burnin a hole in the ground running circles ever since I put him on, and he is almost starting to look a little drawn down since I put him out there. I have put him on a chain before for shorter periods of time and he did the same thing, but I thought by now he would get over it. He looks like a paranoid tweaker out there, cant hardly sit still.
I know he is probably bored from not getting worked due to deer gun season, but that will be over in a week and he'll get back to work. And also I let my other dogs run free and play in my 1 acre fenced in yard for at least an hour every evening.
Anyone else run into something like this? What to do? Just leave him on, and he will get over it? All my other dogs are on chains, and I just keep the one kennel for young dogs, dogs in heat, and stuff like that.

Got some bulldogs that have been on chains since very young ages, that will work that chain all day. They have to be fed a bit more because they burn their fat from being so active all day, even though it's mostly just pacing back and forth. Got a lil' Eli/Bolio bred bitch here that literally has a trench around the outside perimeter of her chain spot, lol.
