Sgt. Peterson with the livestock division asked me a while back if I could take him and his buddy on a hunt. His friend Danny had been wanting to try it for a while now. Peaches, Keith Nichols and I met them this morning to see what we could find. Chrissy and Copper got a group bayed shortly after turning out. The other dogs got there and we headed in with two bulldogs. Had a beautiful bay in a yaupon thicket with several hogs. Millie caught a sow and everything scattered. PeeWee ended up caught on a good boar by himself while we tied the sow. All the other dogs were scattered after the other hogs. Travis looked at his gps and headed to him. Danny wanted a skull mount, so we killed the boar. Hunter, Copper, Chrissy and Lady bayed again about 800 yards out. We let them bay while we got the hogs out and headed there way. Ended with another sow and pig. Danny had a helluva good time and is ready to do it again!

Ben, Copper is doing extremely well for a year and a half old pup. He has the drive, the nose, the hunt, the bottom... everything I'm looking for in a dog. Just enough to piss you off on a work night when he doesn't want to quit. He's gonna be a hand full with a little more age.

I had a heck of a good time today. The dogs were set on kill today for sure. I am pretty proud of peewee for handling that boar by himself for how ever long we were messing with tying that sow. I was headed to him about ten minutes after letting him go because the garmin was showing him treed and he wouldn't come to my calling. I was kinda expecting him to be hurt or something because he usually comes when called. I was sure surprised to see a battle going on in a huge waller when i got over to him. Both peewee and the hog were whooped pretty good by the time i got the hog legged. I was sure glad the guys heard me yelling and came to help. Good times!!

Yeah justin i was just tellin my wife for probably the fifth time how awesome it was to see that hog lifting him off the ground and peedles staying hooked time after time. Its was a sight for sure. Peewee is pretty sore today but will be just fine. That whole deal is what makes hog hunting fun for me, that and catching one in a creek cave... Lol

That's pretty great y'all! Peachcreek, I bet that bulldog is something to be proud of! I miss having an actual catchdog sometimes. Was there anything baying that hog or did pewee just track him down solo? Either way that's a great lookin bulldog. Congrats!

Tbob. There were no other dogs around. The bay dogs had rolled out on the rest of the group. I dont know if the boar was in the group or just close by. I do know peewee can and will hunt better than allot of dogs i have been around. Up until this deal i never thought too much about how bad it could get though. Lol.. if i had not had a garmin on him it woulda been a bad deal. The old boar never said a peep.
