Dogs,hogs,coons

Trigg and July hounds. Has anyone heard of em being used around here? I haven't seen one in forever? What's the deal... They're great dogs and seems like you can only hear about them when u talk to the older generation of hog and yote hunters! Seems like they've been replaced by cats and curs. Even though trigs and Julys can out run a cur any day of the week. Non stop dogs lots of prey drive and a great nose. I like em because there just like curs when it come to gritt and won't bark on a trail but have the nose of a hound and the endurance of the best. I'm looking for another one I'm restarting and going back to the roots of hunting. A breed in my opinion that has been passed up and forgotten about. If anyone has some trig or July pups or knows ANYONE. That are full blooded ukc. Let me know have been on a search for a while and cant seem to find em except up north. Reply your opinions and stories would like to hear about em more.

well it's true they are good dogs but when texas outlawed runnng deer with hounds and all the land being sold off in 5 acre ranchetts all over texas we have no room for running dogs . should still be some out west and down in south texas . hell i used to coon hunt with a trigg got him cause the wolf hunter said he couldn't stop him from trashing on coon lol .

Here's two littermates, they're Trigg/July crosses... and your description is dead on.   The pup in the back is 3/4 and the one in the front is 1/4...  |

My grandpa used to raise July hounds. he would
Run yotes On tha reservations in ok. Man they were some mean suckers.

the fella that bought mine uses them on deer. crossed them over a catawhata and used the pups on hogs
