So i got ahold of a couple pups thats out of some ben jordan blood and thought i had something that would be good to add to my yard but not liking some of the feedback im getting from some folks. Some say they better for cowdogs others say they are known for bein bad timid and the males wana fight. I have no idea so any feedback would be appreciated good or bad would just like to get some different opinions thanks.

Timidness is to be expected on any line that has been closely linebred or inbred for multiple generations.
As far as males fighting .......Hell brotha I am all for a dog that will stand its own ground and not take chit off another. As for fighting in the woods when its game time....no wayno...sleep with the fishes scenario.

Out of all the foundation types ...its the only strain I have heard decent feedback on having somewhat of a nose that can actually find something more than a warm pile of cow manure to bark at.

There's difference between "Ben Jordan blood "and getting a dog straight from the man....I'd look at parents and see how they hunt or work to see what I should expect.

Who did you get your pups from? What does their pedigree look like?

There is a astronomical difference between wetherford Ben bred dogs and Ben Jordan dogs.  Then there is a big difference between dogs with Ben Jordan blood and the dogs on the man's yard.  Where did your dogs come from?

Thanks for the feedback. I got the pups from a buddy of mine he has a male that he got from ben jordans yard didnt get to see his pedigree. He bred him to a yella gyp he has thats a grade dog but a jam up lil cow dog. He uses the dad for a cowdog as well and he is pretty good but he has had him for bout 2 years and it is still an act of congress to get him caught when your done working cattle. They both will bay their liver out and have no backup or quit thats why i thought the pups might have the potential to make good hog dogs

if you get it off his yard , he'd put his name on it .... otherwise it's crossbred or hearsay ...at best .

Call Mr. Jordan and talk to him.
I have started some pups for people from Mr. Jordan and most all turned out very good.  Just some hunters that raise dogs you have to get to know them before you get a pup.
