What size should I make the back of the truck kennel?
I have 2 dogs that are both 50% lacy 50% catahoula ..
They are pups right now so I don't know how big they will get

The one I built is 42w-32d-22h. It will hold 4 dogs just fine they can lay down but they better get along.

The reason I went with the deminsions I did was so I could put it in the truck and back of big red. Works great. With the size u went for 2 dogs they should be plenty comfy for even the long trips. 4 is a little cramped for long trips.

Should I divide it in the middle or leave it open?

Mine is a one hole. My dogs get along in the box so I didn't worry bout splitting the box. If u may ever need to haul a pig tho split would be good.

I am going with a top about six inches above the bed and small gate so only one dog can get out at a time. Just so they can't jump out if they smell a pig and I can control the unloading. Plus give them shade in the heat. I want to make covers for the sides in the winter too.
