I use to feed my dogs diamond but looked around and found other brands that have a higher protein count and less fiber. Fibers act as fillers. With diamond I didn't mind the way my dogs looked but when I looked around I bought Hi Protein. I believe it's protein content is 27 percent as to diamonds 21 or 24. However I also got to where I add sliced veggies and meat when im hunting them hard. I do about 1/4 of a cup of veggies 1cup of dog food and 1 cup of meat. But only when im hunting my dogs hard do I feed meat. 4-5 times a week during the winter. I get my vegtables from a school cafeteria once a week. Meat is usually fish scraps and left overs from deer and hogs that I kill.

what did you worm for and with  ?  protein just maintains muscle mass and purt near  every dog is different . I have no set amount I feed mine  . I feed 24/20 year round some dogs get more than others . but sounds to me like you might not be getting the tapes out , they can be tricky at times . most worm meds for tapes take anywhere from a three to five day routine  .

Any good feed with no corn should b good. Nita nuggets for me. Add some flesh to it. At the market i get bacon ends. U kno the leftovers cheap. Bring to boil in pot let cool add it they will have coats of velvet. Chicken broth works well just can't do that all the time u burn em up.Yall hog hunt so should have some pork around. Owned bulldogs for 20+ yrs  so just sharing what I kno. Obviously more u can do but depends on how much $ u want to spend.Just got active hunting couple years bak. Worse yet I from west coast! Thought I come from the best. Yes all dogs differ. Take care

An old man told me to use safeguard goat wormer I wormed for 3 days 2 cc each

The correct dosage for Safeguard Goat wormer is 1 cc for every  5 lbs of dog weight given 3 days in a row. The 2 cc you mentioned above
is only good for a 10 lb dog.

A good starting point would be to feed them 1 lb. a day. I use a quart can. It holds right at 1 lb of feed. Some get a full can, some get
3/4 can. After a while you will be able to look at em and adjust the amount of feed accordingly. You got to make sure you are worming
them good. I've been using the Safeguard Goat Dewormer for about 5 yrs. with good success.

I know when i get a dog that is under weight i feed them a mid range protein feed and pour about a 1/3 of a cup of corn oil on top of there feed and that bring them up to weight pretty quick because corn is a natural fatter

Yep! Your dogs are going to be fatigued and sore after a long days haul. So the more protein you can get in them the better. I feed mine a pound a day and no more. During the off season I keep my dogs lean and adjust accordingly to size and weight.

You can't go by the dosage on the bottle. That dosage is for goats. The correct dosage is 1 cc for every 5 lbs of body weight given 3 days  in a row. You are not given them enough worm med.

Pryzaqintal will kill the tape worms.  Ivermec is for heart worms.
