Peaches and I turned out to a cool 64 degrees in the piney woods this morning! Our plan was to hit protein feeders till found the hogs before it got hot. We finally started one on the fifth spot we stopped. The hog ran the dogs around in a thicket for a while trying to loose them and finally blew out the back door. Hunter and Lady lined him out while the pups stayed in there circling and looking for him. Once the old dogs got out about a mile, we called the pups in. The hog went about 4 miles straight away and finally had enough. It took a while to get around to them and sent all the young dogs in. They stayed bayed, so we eased in with Pee Wee and Millie and sealed the deal... he was a heavy daddy didn't marry mommy! Built just like a big barr, but was a boar... all that protein they feed year round has been good to him. The man that spends $1,000's a year on feed was with us and was happy for that one to die. It took everything we had to get him in top of the tree for pics.

Millie...

Very nice hog.  Sounds like the dogs earned their keep in this heat.
