What's some tricks that you have tried to get a 10 week old puppy to stop barking??
Hes in a kennel with another dog.
He is let out to play twice a day.
I've had pups before with separation anxiety but usually settle down after couple of days.
I don't want to scold him to much scared of making him skittish.
I tried walking away and ignoring him.
He doesn't bark constant just when he's put back in the kennel and when he sees some one.
I know he's a pup but just don't want it to turn into a habit.

you are right about ignoring the pup when he is barking...only walk up to him when he is not barking...this will help, also might want to throw in an old sweaty T-shirt in the dog house...this seems to help settle them down some...I also use the red rider on them and this helps in getting them with the program a little sooner.

yep, a red rider is the best tool I know of. when im not home and my dogs go to acting up all my old lady has to do is step out the back door and shake the gun and every one of em hits their respective kennels lol........funny how that works

Red rider for me to. Except I broke mine so now I just get a piece of rope (wich isn't very often I've had the same dogs for a few years with an occasional outside dog) and watever word I'm going to yell out the door wen they're barking say it over and over while your in the process. That way they know that wen you say that word they better hush up or they'll get a spankin.

I'd just try to ignore it. Wait until its got some age on it to get onto it for barking. They get skittish quick.

Or you can bring him over here with his brother and they sing a duet

At 10 weeks, barking is tough to stop.  At this point in a pups life, all they really know how to do is bark, eat, sleep, chew shoes, and pee-poop.  I used to try to get them to stop, now I just let them run loose and like you said, they dont really bark outside the kennel.  I bet you will see (or hear) a difference over the next couple weeks.

I use tri tronics not a bark collar.  They end up frying there necks with bark collars.
I just tap them lightly to snao them out of it when they bark until they stop. Then when the time is righg I use bark collars.
7 dogs in city limits and I have the quiets yard on The block.

EXACTLY.

We keep ours by the back door. All we have to do is shake it, but every now and again....I'll hafta pop a hard headed dog on their thigh, lol. We have a lot of critters around here as well as free range fowl that like to act up at time and get the yard going. That red rider is an amazing tool! One of my two young Cat bitches has had to learn the hard way about being quiet when need be, lmao.
