Texas Action Alert! Waco to Vote on Intact Animal Permit July 6th and
dog/cat owners need your help.

Please contact the Waco officials below and OPPOSE this anti-pet proposal.
Tell them what passes in Waco will be proposed in other cities. All eyes
are on Waco!
Inform them that San Antonio just rescinded their Mandatory Spay/Neuter and
Intact Dog Permit this month because it was a failure and unenforceable. In
two years, the only permits San Antonio Animal Care Services sold were for
impounded dogs being released from the Facility back to their owners.

This proposal has failed to lower the number of animals euthanized by city
animal controls anywhere it has passed. The city is being given
misinformation. Less than 7% of impounded dogs and less than 1% of
impounded cats are purebred according to an American Humane Association
Study.

Better solutions are: Enforce the Leash Law; hold off site Pet Adoption
Clinics; Trap, Neuter & Return (TNR) Program for outside cats; low cost Pet
Spay/Neuter Programs; Children's Education; and working closely with Rescue
Groups.

Piling more fees on pet owners in these tough economic times will mean more
animals surrendered to shelters.

It only takes a couple of minutes to send an email. If you cant think of anything to say, here is one I made by just pulling a few facts from the net and article.

I am writing to show my disapproval for the Mandatory Pet Spay/Neuter and the Intact Animal Permit. It has been circulating that the Waco city council has been working with the shelter and PETA members for months. If this is the case, then I am extremely disappointed that the elected officials of Waco would affiliate themselves with a group such a PETA that in their “no euthanization” propaganda, showed to be hypocritical from July 1998 through the end of 2009, PETA killed over 23,000 dogs, cats, and other companion animals at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. Also I would be very hesitant to affiliate with a group that has used their contributors’ tax-exempt donations to fund the North American Earth Liberation front, an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for fire bombs and death threats. The Mandatory Pet Spay/Neuter and the Intact Animal Permit has a proven track record of failure. San Antonio just rescinded their Mandatory Spay/Neuter and Intact Dog Permit this month because it was a failure and unenforceable.
