Anyone ever had a catch dog catch another hog before he/she got to the bay?

Yes, jus recently my CD passed a bay in a cave and struck his own hog. I believe my dogs had bayed up a sounder when they broke my dogs split. It cost him, he hooked up on a hog and was fighting it by himself while we was tieing the other pig. We found him cut up pretty bad and had lost a lot of blood.
