I've had a few different times that yotes ended up chasing my dogs away from a certain area. Three different dogs each time at two different places. When the yotes saw us they turned tail and hauled butt. The whole time they were yipping behind our dogs.

Wont the yotes be whelping soon? Maybe they are more territorial this time of year. Sounds like they were more interested in runnin the dogs off than helping bay pigs, like you see reported here sometimes

I've got a hole I hunt that this has happened several times. They have busted up my pack 3 times this year. It's only one area that it happens I can hunt anywhere around and have no problems till I get to one certain thicket that is probably about 50 acres when the dogs get in there that is where it always happens

I've seen coyotes show up to a bay a couple times, never had them run the dogs off though. Wonder if you were near a den?

Cant say I have has that happen. Good thing we don't have wolves here in the south. Bear hunters up north lose dogs every year because the wolves hear the hounds running and treeing. Wolf or wolves will kill a dog quick and leave bones and a tracking collar laying there with flesh.

Have had several run ins with coyotes. Have had them run with our dogs, take over a running hog, be at bays, kill pigs around our puppy pen and had one catch a hog within 40yds of where we had one caught. I believe they run and catch hogs more than people realize. On properties we hunt that have higher numbers of coyotes, the hog have more of a tendency to run. May be a coincidence, but that's my thoughts about it.

I thought about turning bulldogs loose but the way I raise and train my bulldogs I don't know if they would mess with them I don't have a mean or aggressive dog in my yard I don't allow it cause of my kids if a dog grawls at another dog in my yard he leaves the yard I might b a little to picky but I don't believe in keeping dogs u can't trust! I'm gonna go back this week and try that boar again and c if they come up I might have a little surprise for them this time 12 gauge catch dog should do the trick!

I think you may be surprised at what your bulldogs would do when face to face with a coyote.......9 times outta 10 instincts will take over, kinda the same way as they are the first time around a hog......it may take em a minute to fire off but let that sucker provoke em and its on! My currs are generally good natured at the house and don't squabble to much but I tell ya right now, i pity the coyote that decides to tangle with em........a good curr dog or bulldog will put a top rope beat down on a coyote the majority of the time.

On the places we hunt there are quite a few coyotes. We've had them sit and wait for us to get to the bay and kill the pig prolly cause they know they are gonna get an easy meal. Only had one try and bust a bay, it was a female and I assume they were bayed close to a den. She came out and tried to fight the dogs and picked the wrong one. Never did find her den, but if she had unweaned pups I doubt they made it. Anthony
