Headed to a place on Wednesday morning for an early run.  Got there about 6am (little later than I wanted but the fog was hindering progress) and turned out. I stood holding my Bleu dog's vest for a bit, staring at him considering whether or not to dress him completely, decided sure why not. We turned out with the wind which was a little disheartening but dogs worked it fair enough.  Got to a little creek crossing and they all separate and start working but come up empty.  LB and Brie turn up a rd with Girl in tow and Bleu doing his wandering with distance thing.  Garmin shows em start working hard and again the girls go 3 different ways.  LB books to 500 and cuts back right.  She is in the wind now and we are just hanging out in my jeep BS'in.  Suddenly I thought I heard her and say hey yall hear something??  Guys say mmm....don't think so....  But we hush up and yep sure enough LB sounds off with a ROOOOOOOOO!!!!! yaw yaw yaw!!! yawyawyawyaw!! You can all but see the others slam on the brakes and high tail it to her.  Shes right at 750 and holds there solid tellin us all about it!!  We crank the jeep and zoom as close as we can and by this time everybody is there but Bleu isn't treed yet which is odd.  We get to 250 from em shut it down and jump out.  LB, Brie and Girl are singin to beat the band but can't hear Bleu over them.  Get to 100 and oh damn I hear him barkin.  He doesn't usually bark and im wonderin what his deal is.....  get to around 40 and finally get a visual and oohhhhhhh lordy...!!!!!!!   No wonder Bleu is takin his time, this dude aint no slouch!!  Up against a fallen tree is a very LARGE boar, bristled up and standing his ground eyeballing Bleu then LB, Bleu then LB.  Brie and Girl are swapping from front to rear while LB and Bleu are bustin his eardrums.  Sooooo Im like what the heck are we gonna do Bleu aint catchin it??  Then it happens: hog made the mistake of turning to LB one more time and took a little step and WHAM!!!!! Bleu face checks him and its on!!  I holler HES GOT HIM C'MON!!!!   Get behind him and what didn't look like bad mud turned out to be suck your boots off mud.  Leg him and try to get him flipped but we are all bogged down like bad.  Lost my rope along the way, my buddy brought a buddy along for the first time, we holler and holler and holler for him to help us but he is NO where to be heard seen or found.  We fight this hog for I don't know how long trying to get his legs from the mud but I get armpit deep under him fishing for legs and honestly getting a lil concerned we are about to lose this battle so end up we just tackle it and hold on for the ride with Bleu as our only anchor and have to stick him.  Now I have not dealt with a hog this big and neither had Bleu but he did fantastic in my book and we didn't get hog bit so it ended good Smiley  super proud of little LB for holding this sucker til her backup arrived and Bleu for waiting for the right moment to do his thing!!!!  Here's a few pics:

Little hard to see but hes from one end of the pic to the other.  Bleu and LB in the pix, me, then me and Josh

Great story. When a hog gets in that mud, they are sure hard to grab hold of.

Thanks yall   Grin    usually the places I go dogs end up on what I call medium to good size hogs, like 100-200 pounders.  The Navasota barr we got had been my largest really and this guy blew him outta the water.  Ya cajun we were just about knee deep in that muck, just kept sinkin lol. I just didnt have the a$$ to hold him solo while josh got front or vice versa  Undecided   annnnnd havin the rope may have helped too.....  but again thanks Smiley  Smiley  definitely a fantastic time
