This is one of the toughest boars I have killed this year. Rafter F and Scott were on this hunt. We turned out at my place at Matador. Jessie started this track not far from a windmill overflow. The other dogs got in the race and it was a running gun battle for quite a while. This boar was all over the place and we had to track to them twice. Wes had brought his good finished dogs for this hunt and they paid the price but they did get this boy shut down. When I got to the bay I had cut dogs coming out to meet me, and they we turning around and heading back to the fight. I had Adora and Scot had a green bulldog to catch, it was real hot and I lead them in close, 20yds. Hog was standing in the open fighting dog and broke as the catch dogs were released. Got him caught and stuck. All dogs were real hot most were cut and Adora was down from heat exaustion. We striped vests and let the dogs cool off, Wes and his boy were for the trucks. When Adora could stand and walk we headed out at a slow pace and went to the nearest water to get the dogs cooled off. Wes is on a new exercise plan or my directions aren't very good, one or the other.... , he said he enjoyed the 3 mile walk to the trucks that were a mile and a half away just at daylight. Great hunt Wes and Scott, hope ya'll dogs are OK.....

I think everybody is gonna be ok. It took another full stapler after all the sutures to get ol' Boots and Sandy closed up, and they are both REAL sore, but they are gonna be alright. It will be a few weeks before those two can go again, but I got a whole dam yard full of pups that will get the call. Paul's directions were'nt the problem that caused the walk-a-bout, just not really paying attention to where I was going in the dark when I got to the creek. Turned left instead of right, and walked about a mile in the wrong direction, then had to go back. Had a good hunt with you and Scott as usual Paul, but I have made up my mind, that when I get that Garmin, I'm gonna get an Extra collar for my pickup so I can go back to it a little easier when I'm hunting in country that I don't know.LOL

Dogs gonna be fine, ol Boots come out of his barrel this evening wagging his tail and barking at me when I fed. Sandy just got out and ate, then went back in, but she looked better than she did when we got home this morning.

Good job on shutting down the runner. Shows your good dogs have got the bottom it takes to get it done. If my dogs had your dog's bottom, I'd caught the 2 hogs I ran tonight.

Sounds like a fun hunt. Maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment but on ocassion I don't mind a long run if we still get the catch. Hope all the dogs heal up quick.

He's out. And you're out. And i don't think I'm in either.
