They should find , trail & catch solo not with other dogs. If it barks its a bay dog. I've caught some big rank hogs with my male. He might be 200 yards out or a mile out.  yes sir  |

I don't think the barking that my dog does by himself is a bark I would consider a bay type bark as much as it is a locator type bark to tell me he's on a pig. It's always just 2 or 3 quick barks when he first sees the hog then the fights on. I also agree that a true RCD should be able to do it all on his own.

Ok it is starting to get on my nerves. A rcd means running CATCH dog. If it bays it is NOT a rcd it is a gritty to rough dog.
Man yall read my mind glad to see someone jumped on that!!!! Should do all of em that way.....  |

He might be 200 yards out or a mile out. if your dog is a mile out and is caught on a 275 pound boar then there is that possibility he will overheat or get beat up pretty bad by the boar...is he a solid catch dog or is he a smart catchy dog that knows how to keep one stopped and only catch as needed? a big boar that is fresh can beat a dog pretty bad that is a solid catch dog or the dog can overheat holding a big boar that is a mile out... |

Exactly ^^^^^ He hits like a freight train & locks down like a bull gator. The biggest hog he has trailed & caught solo was in Folkston Georgia. It went 382 on the scale. It beat the piss out of him but he never let go & never barked.

Here is my catch dog Jack hasn't been hunting in a while but is all catch no bark and has some bottom so I've led him in the last few years he is a foundation bred dog  |
