Does anyone know if there are any stags or stag crosses near alabama? Also I have never hunted with one before but they seem to be popular on here would anyone mind givin me a brief run down about them. I'm looking for something that no one around here hunts with around here. I have a shaggy haired dog now that is a jagd, calhoun hound cross or something like that I'm not exactly sure what it is to be honest lol but I like him my best friend has the sister to him am theybr nothing shaping up to fine dogs but I'm interested in the stags or stag crosses any info and input would be appreciated thanx

I was saying that the shaggy dog I have and the sister my best friend has are both shaping up to be fine dogs got ahead of myself typing lol sorry for any confusion lol

I have a Stag and a few crosses off him. I use them as a lead in only... Unless a hog or multiple hogs are in an open field then I will let em run em down.

Ok so are they more like running catch dogs? If so I don't like dogs like that. There isn't anything wrong with them it's just not the way I prefer to hunt. I'm just curious as to what is everyone's opinion on whatbis the best breed of dog that has a pretty good nose and lots of bottom that isn't a hound? I had never seen any of those stags just didn. I what they were an how they are used
