One of the biggest sow we have killed over here is Mississippi. Killed another smaller one about 150. They relayed and got this one. Had two young pups on this one! They stuck in there good! It's nice to be back in action! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mike, Long story short, I bought a full blooded Catahoula female that was all brindle. I got her at a steal because the lady was more into showing dogs and not hog hunting. She is fully papered nalc (which means nothing to me), obviously she didnt meet the show quality the lady was looking for and I decided to purchase her and try to make that line into hog dogs. She turned out to be a fairly decent dog. Not a super star but she would earn her keep. A good friend of mine had a blue leopard male that was a show stopper. He could do it all so we bread them. She threw 8 or 9 puppies and I kept a the only brindle male that she threw. I dont hunt her much any more but her son is a good hog dog. He is the best dog in my yard. That is him you see the picture. I bought a plott hound that was a heck of strike dog and trail dog. She would run one for 4-5 hours and if she had not stopped it by then she was plum give out and would quit. She was a short legged plott. I wanted a little more nose than my Catahoula's were given me and I bread my top male catahoula (brindle) to my top female Plott. The cross has proved to be exceptional. I have a limited sample size because out of 11 puppies only two of them lived. Went outside one morning and apparently suffocated them. I kept the two puppies and they are 1 year and 3 months old and they will roll, they are gritty (which I prefer) and silent on track. Both traits came from my Cats but they hunt like a hound. I honestly could not be more pleased. The down side is the mother is no longer alive so I can not make that cross again. Below is a link that you can view and see a picture of the brindle catahoula female and her papers. The blue leopard male has papers but I do not have them with me and they are not on the sight. THe plott hound was not papered. So pretty much I just bread to fit my needs. http://www.littleckennels.com/hog-dogs/category/hog-dogs/

Nice, sounds like a good cross... you don't see many brindle cats.
