I have had this machete for many years and the handle finally broke...so I had my brother make me a brass guard and a knife maker build the handle...I looked for a brand new one that was bowie style tip but they don't make those any more...I put a razor edge on the top bowie part of the blade...I can whack my way in to the dogs and stick the pig if needed...I like this style of machete because as a kid my dad made 5 or 6 and one was a bowie style and I took possession of it...we used to cut the top of the corn stalks as soon as the corn kernels got fully developed...what I liked was that it was well balanced and did not vibrate when using it...

You start wearing a eye patch & carrying that thing, we will be calling you Jean Lafitte. That came out pretty good.

thanks everyone...Charles...my father made some machetes when about 7 or 8 years old...those are long gone...when he died folks with sticky fingers used to come over and help themselves...all were from my mothers side of the family...  Lips Sealed

I remember liking that particular one back then because it had the back bone to get the job done...a little shorter and less flex...

I like this one just as well...the ones my dad made ere made from better carbon steel...

I only paid about 20 bucks for this one from Ontario knives...they don't make the bowie style anymore for whatever reason...

Cajun...I used it once of the side of my belt and that was the only time...  Grin
I tie it on the side the wheeler...

I like traveling light as much as possible...
