I fed a boar on just corn and scraps...a bag of creep ever once in a while. He was 25 lbs when I started...about 14 months later he was 200lbs.

The boar, no. I got him from ylwblkmsk on here, bacon, probably 2-3 months old and iv had her for 2-3yrs. The young sows are from her and a blonde spotter boar that vanished. Couldnt find where he got out, so im assuming he went over the top, which is one reason i got that boar from myles, plus wanted to put pineywood rooter blood in my pigs.

I didn't feed mine out on the protein like they do feeder pigs but I fed them the portions your suppose to feed butcher (domestic) pigs. I can't remember exactly how much the chart said but it went from a pound a day to 5lbs a day over the span of 14 months.
The bay pen hogs my mentors kept got fed 100lbs of creep a day...that was 20 hogs or so...that's about 5lbs a day. Those hogs were anywhere from 200 to 250lbs a piece and continually putting on weight.
Trust me...worm them and pour the feed to them...they'll hit 200lbs no problem.

I done hit them with the ivomec, I guess what I'm asking is , they are about 20 pounds now, how long should I expect it to be before there 100 pounds ? That's keeping them wormed and pouring the feed to them

At 5lbs a pig, i would go through a 50lb bag a day and at $9 a day, that equates to roughly $3300 a yr, depending if u pay tax on livestock feed. Divide that by my 6 pigs, and that pig just cost $550 to feed out to MAYBE, 200lbs. For as much as i eat pork, store bought or wild, i could go buy a trap caught 250-300lb pig for way less than half what is cost to raise that pig.

when you feed corn soak it over night so the pig can digest it better and that will help in putting on the weight...soaking for 2 days is better...
I can tell you a quick pig story kind of in line with what you are inquiring but these were domestic pigs...our neighbor down the road back when I was a kid, bought three littermate pigs...two weighed about 50 pounds and the runt about 30-35 pounds...the runt was small enough to get through a crack in the fence so he got out daily anytime he wanted and would feed in the rice fields, corn patches and maize fields...and anywhere else he wanted...a couple of months later I saw that runt and he was quite a bit bigger than his siblings...some time later he weighed close to 3 hundred pounds and his brothers weighed maybe 125 pounds...he had a deep dark red coat and his brothers were a dull yellow red...when that pig couldn't fit through the crack in the fence he went over the top...I saw him do it when he was over 200 pounds...for pigs it all about nutrition and calories...

"Bacon" our pet boar, soon to be barr is 15mths old. He is a solid 100+ lbs now. He would be alot bigger but I had him in a smaller pen for quite a while. He is as big around as he is long.

I have had this mine since he was oiterally the size of a gatorade bottle, he doesnt really know any different. Ive kept others in the past that were quite a bit bigger when i cought em and they stayed wild as hell. Mine thinks he is a dog lol. If it werent for me having dogs i could let this one out and he wouldnt go far. When he see's me coming he stands up on the fence so i can scratch his ears and leans on the gate for me to rub on him. I plan on keeping him a long time.....wanna see how big he gets. Im going to barr him soon (should have already)

Same here justin, my siw bacon lived in the house with us, slept in the bed ate what we ate then went to eating tools. After digging through pig chit, it was time for her to go outside. I can call her, pet her, sit down with her and she acts like a dog, scratching on me, rooting my foot, sticking her nose in my face. She is just a pet. She lives with other wild hogs, but she has stayed tamed. Her offsprings though, wild as those caught in the woods. I can let her out n she will roam around, but i dont let her do it to much bc she tends to wanna root n run near the county rd n i dont want her getting hit n me having to pay for the damages done to the vehicle.

There's an old man around here that grows hogs quicker than anybody I've seen, he told me when he gets a hog he don't water it for three days, on the 4 th day he mixes a bottle of wazine in their water, he'll do that again in about a month and after that it's like they blow up, he feeds his soaked feed and them things will be slick fat in a few months.

I run a bag of medicated through em then I go half corn half 15% swine pellets. It does pretty good but most of the pigs I catch on the river here are already fat as ticks.Far as taming them my daughter is a pig whisperer and if its a shoat she'll fool with it till it ain't got a choice but to be nice. We also have 6 pet pigs that act just like y'alls do friendly as dogs.

I think I'll just cook these on the 4th of July , I don't want to put a bunch of feed money in them when I could get some store bought or raise a red wattle hog a lot bigger a lot faster and cheaper. Thank yall for the information though
