All of my kennels are off the ground. Most have either rough cut 1x6 from TSC or 5/4 deck boards. I do have one that I built with 1x6 and it is fine but does flex when I get in there and walk around. They are 5ft wide and 10ft long with a metal roof over them. Lights in them and self watering lickers, food bowls screwed down. Love them, wouldn't have it any other way. No fleas and they cannot get out unless they chew through the welded wire panels, 8ga.

Mine are expanded metal floor with stall Matt over it. I like them a lot, but during the of season you have to take the mats out clean and reprime the expanded metal if you want it to last.
