Figured I'd post this on here for everybody, I saw on Fb a while back, a solution for home round up, it calls for 1 gallon of vinegar, 2 cups of Epsom salt, 1/4 cup of dawn dish soap. I made this mixture up and I believe it works better, I sprayed at 3 in the evening and by dark the grass had already started turning brown, now two weeks later it's dead as a rock. I noticed it worked best on short grass that had already been cut, I did spray it around my grandma, parents, cousin and my mail boxes and it killed grass that was about a foot tall, real cheap and non toxic if you want to spray around your dogs or kids toys.

I wonder if it work on switch cane/georgia cane and its been cut. Iv tried diesel, diesel mixed with weed kiiler and little luck. It killed the current vegetation, but several months later, it was back with a vengence. The hard part it killing the root system. Even dug up roots thats been exposed to sunlight for months will resprout once govered with dirt and watered.
Does anyone know how to kill this dang switch cane at a reasonable cost?

Considering the perennial nature of bamboo, the use of herbicide will often be needed to hasten and improve control. However, there are currently no herbicide labels that list bamboo as a controlled species. But there are herbicides that are relatively effective on this weed. Both glyphosate (Roundup and others) and imazapyr (Arsenal and others), used at high rates, will control bamboo.
Research has shown that for herbicides to be effective, the bamboo should be mowed or chopped and allowed to regrow to a height of approximately 3 feet, or until the leaves expand. Glyphosate at a 5% solution or imazapyr as a 1% solution can then be applied directly to the leaves.

The glyphosate is what iv been using and it kills it for a couple months but even the dead stuff comes back life. If a bomag wasnt so expensive to rent, id get one and churn it up, chopping the roots into a powder.

never heard of it. if it will kill this dang bamboo/switch cane, ill try anything that i can buy over the counter without having that dang applicator license. heck, i harvested some old road base a good bit back, spread it out and even played 4" of crushed concrete over it and evidently i didn't get a few of the roots and the stuff is growing through concrete now. its only a couple stalks that i kill off ever now and then so its not so bad, but id like to get rid of the heavy stuff so i can put a fence up and keep it maintained. the dang county planted the stuff for wind breaks and errosion control, but its taken over some area where i want my fence to go up and i need to get it under control asap.

TSC sells it, make sure to spend the extra money up front and buy the higher end, look at the active ingredients the generic brand is diluted down a lot.
